About Art Karbowski

I am an artist living in La Crosse, WI. I love La Crosse and it is the subject of much of my work.

I have lived here since 1999 when I moved here to obtain a Bachelors degree from Viterbo University in Mathematics and Philosophy. I have worked as a welder/fabricator and designer as well as a teacher for the past fifteen years.

There is nothing so satisfying to me as to release the shutter at exactly the right time and place to show you the things I see in such a way that frame and ground disappear. 

I study and get my inspiration from the Masters of Art Photography: Minor White, Stephen Shore, William Eggleston, Edward Weston, and Dorthea Lange, among others
